Accessibility statement

This page is for anyone who uses havihi.digital with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or any other tool. Accessibility is part of how we build for clients, so this site has to meet the same standard.

Here's what we aimed for, how it was checked and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

The standard

The goal is for every page on this site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Here's what that means in practice on this site:

  • A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing you reach with the keyboard.
  • Each page has one main heading, and the headings below it follow in order.
  • Every link and button shows a clear outline when it has keyboard focus.
  • Buttons and menu links are at least 44 pixels tall. Links inside sentences follow the size of the text around them.
  • On smaller screens, the main menu sits behind a Menu button. It opens and closes with a keyboard or a tap, pushes the page down rather than covering it, and needs no JavaScript.
  • Body text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1, and large headings and numbers meet at least 3 to 1. That's true in both the light and dark themes, and the site follows your device's light or dark setting.
  • Links in text are underlined, so they don't rely on colour to stand out.
  • Pages fit screens 320 pixels wide, which also covers zooming to 400%, without sideways scrolling.
  • There are no animations, pop-ups or time limits. If you've asked your device to reduce motion, the site also turns off smooth scrolling and the short colour fade on links.
  • The site uses no JavaScript, so it works the same in every browser, including text-only ones.

How it was tested

These checks were run on 28 September 2026, on every page:

  • An automated review of the page structure: page language, headings, landmarks, link text, text alternatives for images and duplicate IDs.
  • Contrast ratios calculated for every text and background colour pair, in both themes.
  • Rendering at 320, 360 and 1280 pixels wide, checking for sideways scrolling and clipped content, with and without extra text spacing.
  • A keyboard walk that pressed Tab through each page, checking that every link and button could be reached in a sensible order with a visible focus outline.
  • A review of the accessibility tree, which is what a screen reader is given to read out.
  • A visual review of every page in the light and dark themes, on a phone-sized screen and a desktop one.

What isn't perfect yet

We haven't yet walked through every page with a screen reader from start to finish. That's next on our list, and this page will say when it's done.

Some pages link to other sites, such as LinkedIn, GitHub and recordist.app. We can't control how accessible those sites are.
